Designing for maximum clarity: giving users a clearer path from symptom to solution.

UX/UI Design & Branding
01
Mohana is a web app that helps women manage hormonal imbalances. It provides personalized action plans based on their symptoms and blood test results. In collaboration with another designer, developers, and our CEO, I led the redesign of the action plan feature to better meet user needs.
02
After receiving their action plans, several users in our beta cohort expressed frustration on its lack of conciseness in a feedback survey. Our practical advice was buried, making it difficult for them to integrate it into their daily lives, and delayed the time to get value from the product. Users expressed that their symptoms and test results weren't clearly connected to their action, which meant that the core goal of the feature was failing.
03
We wanted to clearly present a user's actions, while linking them to their specific symptoms and blood test results. My role involved redesigning the action cards and description screens to be concise, actionable, and directly tied to these metrics. I focused on improving the information hierarchy to help users quickly implement changes, while keeping educational content accessible for those seeking more details. We aimed to validate the redesign by surveying our beta cohort, with a goal of at least 5 out of 10 users finding the new design more impactful.

Important information like dosages and frequency of actions were extracted from long texts, symptoms and biomarkers got their own component, and scientific information moved into its own section:

Usability prototype testing with our users showed they were all enthusiastic about the changes. These changes were well received by project stakeholders, giving users what they wanted without compromising the product’s scientific vision. They are currently being released with V2 of the app.
